TGS @ RGT@LCM Guitar Conference, London

Today I took the opportunity to attended the annual RGT guitar conference at University of West London, Ealing.

It’s an opportunity for tutors from around the UK meet and share ideas and tips and to hear from some exceptional musicians and tutors in a number of seminars throughout the day.

I had the pleasure of attending the following inspirational talks with the aim of adding value to my lessons for my students in the future:

  • Teaching students with special educational needs- Al Summers & Ray Bradfield
  • Group tuition techniques-David Millar
  • Master of funk – Rob Harris -pictured above (Session guitarist of Jamiroquai /Katy Perry /Kylie / Robbie Williams fame)
  • Acoustic Arrangements – Max Millingan

The first event of its kind I have attended, it was well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. I came away wowed by some exceptional guitar talents but left with a ‘jaw to the floor’ by a solo performance by Hugh Burns at the wrap up mtg.

Now to put all the ideas to use… And after that performance by Hugh, just off to ‘practice my chops’

I leave you with a pic from the Fender stand (no I didn’t treat myself)  Have a great week!!
